Veneers

No bigger than a contact lens and thinner than your fingernail, a veneer may be the best option to transform your smile.

Using the latest technology, GWH Dental performs plastic and porcelain veneers in Brisbane and can help you redesign your smile.

Michael and his team use ceramic (porcelain) or plastic materials to create the veneers to achieve whiter-looking teeth and straighten the appearance of teeth or close gaps.

  • Ceramic (porcelain) veneers

It is a two-visit procedure to have veneers attached to your natural teeth. At the first appointment your dentist will clean and prepare the teeth for an accurate shade selection.

An impression of your teeth is taken to make a mould from which permanent veneers are crafted. Your dentist will attach temporary veneers at this appointment.

On your second visit, your dentist will remove the temporary veneers and try the specially crafted permanent ones, evaluating the fit and aesthetic appeal.

Your teeth will then be prepared so the permanent veneers can be securely attached.

Michael recommends ceramic (porcelain) veneers as they are long lasting and have a more natural sheen to their appearance. They don’t lose their glossy finish and will not discolour over time.

  • Plastic (resin) veneers

Plastic (resin) veneers can usually be applied in one visit. Also known as composite veneers, they can be applied to the natural tooth without causing damage and can also be repaired or removed if the need arises. They are sculpted directly on to the tooth, eliminating the need for a mould or second appointment. They are a hardwearing option, but do not last as long ceramic (porcelain) veneers.

A veneer can be used to alter the shape, colour, spacing, alignment, length and proportion of your teeth. They are made to match the colour of your surrounding natural teeth.

They are durable and stable, and patients can still enjoy any food or drink without spoiling their new smile. For plastic or ceramic (porcelain) veneers in Brisbane, Michael and the GWH Dental team in Cleveland can explain the procedure and the best option for you.
