Dr. Michael Harris

Treating patients for more than 25 years has led Dr Michael Harris to understand that building long-term relationships helps deliver better outcomes.

It is the relationship with his patients that is the most important aspect of Michael’s work.

Understanding their needs means he can help them achieve their short and long-term goals. It’s his priority first and foremost.

GWH Dental is well-known in the community with a history that spans more than 65 years. Since taking over the ownership of the business in 2009, Michael has maintained a caring and honest approach with his patients. He is proud that his team also has the same goals and work ethics, and values their hard work.

Michael grew up on a farm in Dalby, in south west Queensland, before moving on to St Johns College while studying at the University of Queensland, Brisbane.

His first dental job saw him move back to the country at a private practice with Warren Crowther in Goondiwindi, Queensland.

In May 2001, Michael moved back to Brisbane and began work with Peter Ruzzene in Garden City Shopping Centre at Upper Mt Gravatt. Warren Crowther (the former owner of GWH Dental) had by then introduced Michael to John Wallis in 2009 and he bought the Godfrey and Wallis practice from Don Godfrey and John Wallis in December 2009.

His attention to detail has earned him trust among his patients and it is why he enjoys performing root canal treatments, implants, crowns and bridges.

When Michael is not working on bettering GWH Dental or the health and wellbeing of his patients, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. Together with his amazing wife, they are very busy raising their 2 little girls. He loves to get outdoors and does not mind a 4wd trip. His hobbies include gardening, woodwork – and the occasional glass of red.
